Göteborg Pass

Frequently asked questions about the Gothenburg Pass

Here you'll find answers about buying, activating and using the Gothenburg Pass, and what it covers.

Buying and refunds

What happens if my plans change?+

You can return any unactivated pass to Go City within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. Once you've used it for the first time, no refund is possible. The refund terms shown in your booking channel are what apply.

How long is a pass valid if I don't use it straight away?+

A purchased pass stays valid for up to 2 years from the date of purchase, as long as it hasn't been activated. The validity period only starts on your first attraction visit, so you can book early and travel later.

Where do I book the Gothenburg Pass?+

You book the Gothenburg Pass directly through Go City. There are two versions, the All-Inclusive Pass and the Essentials Pass. You can reach the All-Inclusive Pass with its current price via the booking button on this page.

Activation and validity

How do I activate the Gothenburg Pass?+

The pass activates automatically on your first attraction visit. You have your QR code scanned at the entrance, and the validity period starts from that moment. Until then the pass stays inactive.

Do the days have to be consecutive?+

Yes. With a multi-day pass, the days run on consecutive calendar days from activation, whether or not you visit something each day. It's best to start in the morning so you get the most out of every day.

What counts as a day, 24 hours or a calendar day?+

Calendar days count, until midnight. Each pass day ends at 23:59, regardless of your start time. If you only start in the afternoon, you lose the unused morning hours.

Using the pass on site

Do I need a physical ticket or is the pass digital?+

The Gothenburg Pass is fully digital. You show the QR code in the Go City app or as a PDF on your phone. There's no voucher to exchange and nothing to collect on arrival.

Is the pass transferable or shareable between people?+

No. Each pass is personal and valid for one person. You can't pass on the QR code, so everyone needs their own pass.

Do I need reservations or time slots?+

Usually not. You can visit most museums on the spot. Only a few tours with limited places need a reservation, and this is flagged for each one in the Go City app.

Can I visit the same attraction more than once?+

No. Each included attraction can be visited once per pass. With over 20 attractions, though, you'll find plenty of alternatives for every day.

What's included

Is public transport included?+

No. The city's trams, buses and ferries aren't included. The pass covers admissions plus the sightseeing bus and boat tours. For public transport you'll need a separate ticket.

Which tours are included?+

The pass includes the hop-on hop-off bus, the hop-on hop-off boat (Paddan), the Paddan City Canal Tour, plus guided archipelago tours and boat trips, for example to Vinga. You can see which tours run seasonally in the Go City app.

Is there a Gothenburg Pass for children?+

Yes, Go City offers discounted children's passes for ages 3 to 15. Children under 3 don't need their own pass. From age 16, the adult price applies.

Still have questions?

You've got the key answers, and the rest sorts itself out in the Go City app. Grab your pass and get going.
