What the Gothenburg Pass covers

The 22 included attractions fall into three groups, and they are worth very different amounts, which is worth knowing before you start adding up prices.

Museums and science. The Universeum combines a science centre with a multi-storey rainforest hall and a large aquarium, the most-visited attraction on the pass. The Maritime Museum & Aquarium (Sjöfartsmuseet Akvariet) tells the story of Gothenburg's seafaring past and holds a large coral reef tank in its basement. The Museum of Gothenburg sits in the old East India House on the canal and displays, among other things, Sweden's only surviving Viking ship. Then there's the Museum of World Culture, the Gothenburg Museum of Art with its Hasselblad Center, the Röhsska Museum of design, Röda Sten Konsthall, Maritiman with its floating ship collection, and smaller museums including the tram museum and the sports museum. Outside the city is Aeroseum, an aviation museum built into a former underground rock bunker.

On the water. This is where the expensive tickets are. The Paddan City Canal Tour is the classic run through the canals and under the notoriously low bridges, alongside a longer, more scenic Paddan route. The real money is in the excursions: the guided archipelago tour, the boat trip to Vinga Island and the boat excursion around Hisingen each cost several hundred SEK individually. On top of that there's the hop-on hop-off boat.

On land. The hop-on hop-off bus covers the city's main stops. Don't confuse it with public transport: Västtrafik's trams and buses are not included in the pass, and you'll need a separate ticket for those.

And for families: Prison Island Gothenburg, an escape-game course, Laserdome Kållered, the adventure minigolf course in Slottsskogen, and Bohus Fortress north of the city.
